To improve the education system, the new Government plans to hire 5 lakh teachers
In an attempt to add India in the list of 100 best places for the education, Modi government plans to hire 5 lakh teachers. The official notification regarding the same will be released on June 30, 2019. The government will also issue the clear guidelines dividing specific responsibilities among the center and state governments as they hire the teachers for the central and the state-run institutions. Also, the government plans to review the education policy after every five years and will make necessary changes and better align the Indian education system with the world and the needs of the global economy. The government will issue the complete action plan in a public notice on May 31, 2019, a person aware of the development said. The education to the students will be imparted with an aim to improve their skills and re-skill them according to the needs of the industries. The official work on the new education policy will commence from August 15, 2019. In a separate development, the government will establish ‘The Higher Education Commission of India’ (HECI) after dissolving the UGC (University Grants Commission). The draft of the HECI Act-2018 will be shared with the universities and based on their suggestions the HECI will be established in August 2019. A new accreditation system will be set up by the government and the announcement regarding the same will be made by the government latest by August 15, 2019.
