UP government asked schools not to charge transportation fee during the lockdown



According to the Department of Secondary Education, schools in UP cannot charge transportation fees from the students during the lockdown period. Schools across the nation have been closed to prevent the spread of the coronavirus breakout. The central government extended the lockdown in the nation until May 3, 2020. Earlier, the state had also directed the schools not to pressure the parents for depositing fee in advance of their children. All the schools have been directed by the Secondary Education Principal Secretary Aradhana Shukla not to charge transportation fees from the parents during the lockdown. The orders were issued on the direction of Deputy Chief Minister Dr Dinesh Sharma. “The Department of Secondary Education, Uttar Pradesh, has an issued an advisory asking the schools to not charge transportation fees from the students during the lock down period or until the schools are closed”, Dr. Sharma tweeted. UP CM Yogi Adityanath has directed all state officials to start online classes in all the educational institutions. The minister also said that classes will be conducted through WhatsApp groups.
